John Vuli Gate Hitmaker’s Fight Over Song Ownership
The John Vuli Gate hitmakers recently made headlines and sent social media into a passion with their hit song and dance challenge nickname ‘JohnVuliGateDanceChallenge’. Although, there are now back in the spotlight all for the wrong reasons as they now fighting over ownership of the song.
This comes after, one of the hitmakers Ndivhuwo Nephawe age 26 accused his brother, McMillan “Man Malaya” who is a member of the Amapiano duo Mapara A Jazz, alongside Leonard Malatji “Lenny Sbechu” of stealing his track as he claims full ownership of the song.
During an interview with the Daily Sun, Ndivhuwo, who is a member of Scara Chilli Ya Baba, claims the duo stole their song in July when they visited their studio to listen to a music project they were working on at that time.
“Yes he is my brother, but this is business. We won’t allow them near our studio again” He said.
His fellow group member, Dominic Baloyi “Matanta” revealed that Mapara A Jazz stole their beat concept together with a file with the vocals. “We wrote the song alongside Ntosh Gazi. The duo is in the limelight because of our song. They should performing and telling people it’s their song, the matter is in the hands of our legal team,” he said
Although, Ntosh whose real name is Ntokozo Soko, claims that he is the one who came up with the concept. Ntokozo rubbished claims that they stole the song stating that the Scara Chill Ya Baba members are just bitter and jealous of their success.
“This is my song, I came up with the concept and was supposed to collaborate with Scara Chilli Ya Baba and Mapara A Jazz on the song. I made the song trend because of my popularity. Where were they all this time? Why are they complaining now as the song is big?” He asked
Meanwhile, Scara Chilli Ya Baba have already opened a case against Mapara A Jazz at Olievenhoutbosch Police Station.
